Arsenal's success in securing the 2025-2026 Premier League title has cleared the path for Mikel Arteta's side to fully shift their focus towards the Champions League final. This milestone arrived earlier than expected after Manchester City failed to pick up a win against Bournemouth on matchweek 37.

City's 1-1 draw leaves The Citizens four points adrift of Arsenal with just one single match remaining in the league campaign. This mathematical gap confirmed Arsenal can no longer be caught at the top of the table, officially bringing the domestic title race to a close.

This season, Arsenal stood as the most consistent side across the Premier League. The Gunners recorded the most wins of any team over the full campaign, and have held league leadership almost continuously from the first half of the season onwards. This unwavering consistency formed the core foundation of their league triumph.

While they were unable to make deep runs in the FA Cup and League Cup, Arsenal demonstrated tactical maturity in the two most prestigious competitions. With the Premier League trophy now secured, all attention is now turning to the biggest fixture of the season: the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on 30 May in Budapest.

For Arsenal, this opportunity is about far more than just chasing their first European trophy. They also have the chance to cap off a remarkable run by completing the entire Champions League campaign unbeaten.

Across 14 Champions League matches so far, The Gunners have registered 11 wins and three draws. Arsenal's dominance was evident right from the group stage, where they notched eight consecutive victories - including convincing wins over Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

Arsenal's resilience carried through into the knockout stages. Bukayo Saka and his teammates maintained their consistent form, picking up one win and one draw in each knockout round. Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting CP, and eventually Atletico Madrid were all eliminated as Arsenal marched towards the final.

Mikel Arteta's side booked their place in the final after knocking out Atletico Madrid with a 2-1 aggregate semi-final scoreline. Following a 1-1 draw in Madrid, Arsenal sealed a 1-0 home victory in London to confirm their trip to Budapest.

This season's showpiece will be only the second Champions League final in the North London club's history. Notably, Arsenal's run this year echoes the 2006 Arsene Wenger side, who also reached the final with an unbeaten record from the group stage onwards.

However, a bitter memory still hangs over the club. Two decades ago, that 2006 side fell short of lifting the trophy, losing 1-2 to Barcelona in the Paris final despite an outstanding tournament run. Now, this new generation of Arsenal have the chance to end that long wait and write fresh history for the club.

Should they defeat PSG, Arsenal will not only claim their first ever Champions League title, they will also become the seventh English side to lift Europe's most prestigious club trophy. Before them, only Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City and Aston Villa have achieved this feat.

Securing the Premier League title has put Arsenal in the perfect position. With the pressure of the domestic title race now lifted, the squad can direct all of their energy fully towards this one decisive match in Budapest.

Momentum, consistency and confidence now stand as The Gunners' greatest assets as they target a perfect season.

Arsenal's journey to the 2025-2026 Champions League final proves this is no fluke run. They are genuine strong title contenders, performing with stability, discipline and a hunger to make history.

Now all that remains is to see if Mikel Arteta's squad can finish the job that now lies right within their grasp.
