Expansive green fairways and cool fresh air at Golf Courses form part of the strategy implemented by the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) to attract more International Tourists. Through the Familiarization Trip (famtrip) program, the Ministry is introducing Indonesia's premium Golf Tourism destinations and supporting facilities to the South Korean market.
This program was not designed as a standard promotional visit. 12 travel agents and specialised golf tour operators from South Korea were invited to directly experience the quality of Indonesia's golf courses, accommodation amenities, and complementary tourist attractions, with focus on locations across West Java.
Participating organisations for this initiative include Mode Tour, Evergreen Tour, and Event World Tour. Delegates were guided to experience the full golf tourism offering, paired with tropical natural landscapes, warm local cultural hospitality, and the growing internationally standardised facilities available across Indonesia.

Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Deputy Minister for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, confirmed that first-hand on-location experience is the most effective method to expand global market reach for Indonesian Golf Tourism.
"Through this direct experience, we expect all participants will be able to develop and market competitive Indonesian Golf Tourism packages tailored specifically to the travel preferences of Korean visitors", stated Ni Made Ayu Marthini in an official press release confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Tourism has identified South Korea as a high potential market for golf tourism growth. Korean travellers are documented to have very high interest in Sport Tourism, particularly golf which is regularly combined with relaxation breaks and family travel.
For this reason, formal partnership with these travel industry operators is expected to unlock expanded business opportunities for the tourism sectors of both nations. This initiative also reinforces Indonesia's position as one of the world class Tourist Destinations for golf within the Asian region.
Alongside raising international exposure for Indonesia's golf destinations, this program is also projected to deliver direct positive impact on International Visitor Arrivals and local economic growth for communities surrounding the tourist locations.
"With our abundant natural assets, internationally certified Golf Course standards, and genuine local hospitality, Indonesia is ready to become a first choice destination for golf travellers worldwide", added Made.
Positive feedback was received from the South Korean famtrip delegation. Yeum Seung Chan, representative for the Republic of Korea's Event World Tour, shared he was highly impressed with the standard of Golf in Indonesia, which he assessed as equal to other established international golf destinations.
"Beyond the excellent facilities, the natural scenery and warmth of local communities created an exceptionally memorable experience. We see enormous potential for Indonesia, particularly West Java, to become a Preferred Destination for golf tourists from the Republic of Korea", stated Yeum.
Supported by modern golf infrastructure, breathtaking tropical natural panoramas, and continuously improving tourism accessibility, Indonesia is now positioning itself not only as a general holiday destination, but as a leading regional hub for Asian golf tourism.
