Jorge Martin's victory at the 2026 French GP reshuffled the championship Standings in this season's MotoGP. By conquering the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans, Martin closed the gap to just one point behind his Aprilia Racing teammate Marco Bezzecchi, who still leads the provisional standings.

This win marked Martin's first victory of the season and signaled that the battle for the 2026 MotoGP title is heating up. Martin now has 127 points, while Bezzecchi sits just above him with 128 points.

Although Bezzecchi failed to defend his win at Le Mans and had to settle for second place, his consistency throughout the season keeps him at the top.

The Italian rider has collected three wins and five podiums so far, establishing himself as one of the most stable riders on the MotoGP grid this season.

Aprilia's dominance became even more evident after Ai Ogura secured a third-place finish at the French GP. This result propelled the Aprilia satellite rider to fifth place in the standings with 67 points.

Meanwhile, Fabio Di Giannantonio retains third place in the standings after finishing fourth at Le Mans. The VR46 rider has amassed 84 points and remains in contention for the title.

The battle at the top is tightening as Pedro Acosta holds close in fourth place with 83 points, just one point behind Di Giannantonio.

However, the biggest spotlight falls on Marc Marquez's situation. The absence of the six-time world champion due to injury is diminishing his title chances. The Ducati Lenovo Team rider is now languishing in seventh place with 57 points.

With the gap widening, Marquez is losing momentum amidst Aprilia's dominance and the consistency of his rivals.

As the season progresses and the competition intensifies, each upcoming race will be crucial for the Spanish rider's comeback hopes.

Misfortune also struck Marquez's teammate, Francesco Bagnaia. Bagnaia failed to capitalize on a chance to close in on the leaders after crashing at Le Mans. The reigning MotoGP world champion remains stuck in ninth place in the standings with 43 points.

The 2026 French GP proved that Aprilia is the main force in MotoGP this season. With Martin and Bezzecchi battling at the top of the standings, coupled with strong performances from Ai Ogura, the team from Noale is taking over the dominance that had been synonymous with Ducati in recent seasons.
