Its inclusion in Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) since 2023 confirms the event's national tourism appeal. In 2026, Surabaya achieved special recognition as both its flagship events – Rujak Uleg Festival and Surabaya Vaganza – made the list of Indonesia's top 125 national events.

For tourism, KEN status extends beyond symbolic recognition. National calendar inclusion demonstrably boosts tourist numbers, hotel occupancy, and local Creative Economy activity.
