Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak is determined to continue his team's positive record when facing classic rival Persija Jakarta in week 32 of the Super League 2025/2026 at Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, Sunday May 10.
Persib approaches the match with high confidence after never losing to Persija in the last three seasons.
This record becomes an important asset for Maung Bandung in this prestigious high-pressure duel.

"The good thing is that in the last three years we have never lost (against Persija). So we will try to continue that in the upcoming match," said Hodak in Bandung.
The Croatian coach believes a winning mentality and consistent gameplay have been Persib's main strengths throughout this season.
According to him, this factor must be shown again when facing Persija in a match predicted to be tight.
Despite having a positive record, Hodak still urged his team not to be complacent. He assessed that Persija has a stronger squad quality this season after signing several new players.
“They will try to give their all. But we have a strong ambition to maintain the record and bring back the maximum result from Samarinda,” he said.
Ahead of the match, Hodak confirmed the condition of the majority of Persib players is quite good.
He revealed Eliano Reijnders suffered a collision in the previous match but is expected to be able to play again. Meanwhile, Marc Klok's condition is still being monitored by the medical team.
“All players are okay. The team atmosphere is also good again. I hope we can play with a full squad,” said Hodak.
Andrew Jung Enthusiastic About Facing Persija
Persib striker, Andrew Jung, expressed enthusiasm for the duel against Persija. The French player stated this match will be his first experience feeling the atmosphere of the Indonesian "El Clasico".
"We prepared well. We trained today and will continue to refine our preparations throughout the week to win the match,” said Jung in Bandung.
Jung is determined to contribute maximally to Persib after missing the first meeting this season due to Injury.
He emphasized Persib's target remains the same: win the remaining matches to maintain championship chances.
“We know, we have to win all the matches," he said.
The 27-year-old striker also chose to ignore criticism regarding Persib's forward line performance. For him, contribution on the field is far more important than outside comments.
"I don't care about criticism. Honestly, I don't like talking about statistics. But I started 17 matches and scored 16 goals. I scored almost every 100 minutes,” he said.
Although he once hoped to play directly in Jakarta, Jung confirmed the venue change to Samarinda does not reduce Persib's motivation to achieve an important victory over Persija.
“If we win all the remaining matches, we are champions. That's it,” he concluded.
