Asia has long been home to some of the world's Best Airports. However, the best Travel Experience doesn't always come from giant airports like Singapore Changi Airport, Tokyo Haneda Airport, or Incheon International Airport.
Across various corners of Asia, regional airports are increasingly attracting tourists by offering calmer, more practical, and efficient travel experiences.
With fewer passengers compared to international mega hubs, these airports provide faster immigration processes, less crowded terminals, and easier access to the city.

World aviation ranking body Skytrax has released its list of the Top 10 Best Regional Airports in Asia for 2026. None of Indonesia's airports feature on this top 10 list.
The assessment was based on passenger satisfaction, cleanliness, service efficiency, terminal comfort, facilities, and the quality of staff service.
The results show Japan reasserting its dominance in Asia's aviation sector by placing several airports on the main list.
First place was taken by Chubu Centrair International Airport or Centrair Nagoya. Serving the central Japan region, this airport is praised for its high efficiency, clean terminal, clear signage, and professional staff service.
Besides being famously well-organized, Centrair Nagoya also delivers a comfortable Travel Experience with its aircraft observation deck, shopping center, restaurants, and spacious waiting areas.
Its manageable size allows passengers to move quickly without the congestion typical of major International Airports.
Fukuoka Airport, known for its extremely close proximity to downtown Fukuoka, secured second place.
Tourists can reach the city center in just minutes, making it a favorite for both business travelers and those on Short Trips.
This airport is also renowned for its selection of authentic Japanese cuisine, including ramen and various regional specialties from Fukuoka.
Meanwhile, Haikou Meilan International Airport took third place, highlighting the rapid development of regional airports in China.
Located on Hainan Island, this airport serves as the main gateway to China's tropical tourism region, boasting a modern terminal and a more comfortable atmosphere compared to several other large airports on the mainland.
Japan placed another representative in the top rankings with New Chitose Airport in fourth position. Serving the Hokkaido region, this airport is celebrated for blending efficiency with an enjoyable tourist experience, featuring everything from seafood and ramen dining centers to cinemas and relaxation areas.
India demonstrated the improving quality of its airports with Kempegowda International Airport in fifth place and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in sixth place.
Both airports were recognized for successfully enhancing terminal comfort, passenger capacity, and modern facilities to support the growth of India's aviation industry.
Gimpo International Airport in South Korea ranked seventh, benefiting from its closer location to downtown Seoul compared to Incheon. This factor makes Gimpo a practical choice for domestic flights and short-haul regional routes.
Japan showed consistency once again with Naha Airport in eighth place. The gateway airport to Okinawa tourism is known for its sunny atmosphere, friendly service, and easy access to Japan's subtropical beach destinations.
India re-entered the list with Manohar International Airport in ninth place. This new airport in Goa was built to support the surge in Indian Beach Tourism, offering modern facilities and a more comfortable travel experience.
Meanwhile, tenth place was taken by Da Nang International Airport, which continues to develop alongside the rising popularity of Central Vietnam tourism. This airport serves as the main gateway to popular destinations like Hoi An and Hue, excelling in its fast and straightforward travel processes.
Skytrax's latest list demonstrates that the best travel experience doesn't always come from the largest airports. For many tourists, regional airports actually offer a more relaxed, efficient, and enjoyable journey.
