This result puts Bayern in a commanding position ahead of the second leg, needing only a draw to secure their semifinal berth.
Conversely, Madrid now faces immense pressure and must win by at least two goals when they visit Germany.

From kickoff, Bayern displayed aggression and immediately took control of the attacking initiative. The first chance fell to Konrad Laimer, but his shot sailed wide of Madrid's goal.
The hosts attempted to respond with several opportunities. However, Bayern's disciplined defensive line absorbed the pressure without conceding during the early stages.
