Liverpool suffered a painful defeat when visiting Wolverhampton Wanderers' headquarters in the 29th week of the Premier League. Playing at Molineux Stadium on Wednesday, March 4 early morning WIB, The Reds succumbed with a score of 1-2 in the final seconds.

Mohamed Salah managed to score Liverpool's equalizing goal, but Wolves secured three points thanks to goals from Rodrigo Gomes and Andre Trindade.

With this defeat, Liverpool remains stuck in fifth place in the temporary English Premier League Standings with 48 points from 29 matches, three points behind the top four.

Meanwhile, the win wasn't enough to lift Wolves from the bottom of the standings with 16 points from 30 matches, 11 points away from the safety zone.

Dominance Without Goals in the First Half

From the start of the match, Liverpool took the initiative to attack. Two Liverpool chances through shots by Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai were saved by Wolves Goalkeeper Jose Sa.

Another attempt by Jeremie Frimpong still sailed over the crossbar.

Despite constant pressure in the first half, Liverpool failed to break the deadlock. The goalless draw persisted until halftime.

Late Drama at Molineux

Entering the second half, Liverpool did not ease their attacks. Arne Slot's squad remained aggressive. However, Wolves' solid defense kept numerous chances from resulting in goals.

Instead, the hosts surprised Liverpool by stealing the lead in the 78th minute. Through a quick counter-attacking scheme, Rodrigo Gomes capitalized on Tolu Arokodare's pass. The score changed to 1-0 for the hosts' advantage.

Liverpool responded quickly. Capitalizing on a Wolves defensive error, Mohamed Salah equalized to 1-1 in the 83rd minute.

But just when the match seemed headed for a draw, Wolves secured a dramatic victory in Injury time. Andre Trindade's shot in the 90+4 minute deflected off Joe Gomez's foot before entering the net. Wolves won 2-1.
