The Indonesian Indonesia contingent concluded its campaign at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games (APG) in Thailand with impressive results. Competing in Nakhon Ratchasima and Bangkok for tenpin bowling, the Red and White team collected a total of 392 medals, consisting of 135 gold, 143 silver, and 114 bronze.

According to official APG 2025 data, all medals were won from the 18 Sports Indonesia participated in throughout the period of 19–25 January. This achievement placed Indonesia second in the final medal Standings of the largest multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities in Southeast Asia.

Since departing for Thailand, the Indonesian contingent targeted a minimum top-three finish. This target was deemed realistic, considering several of Indonesia's strong events were not contested, and participation decreased from some countries, including Cambodia.

The Indonesian contingent, led by Chef de Mission (CdM) Reda Manthovani, was initially set a target of 82 Gold Medals, 77 silver, and 77 bronze by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora). However, the athletes' consistent performance throughout the week significantly surpassed this target.

Para Athletics and Swimming as Mainstays

Several sports performed dominantly and became the backbone of Indonesia's medal haul. Para athletics contributed the most gold medals with 44 gold, 39 silver, and 23 bronze.

Following closely, para swimming also showed a solid performance, contributing 29 gold, 37 silver, and 20 bronze. These two sports were instrumental in securing Indonesia's position near the top of the standings from the early days of the competition.

Dominance in Key Strategic Sports

Besides athletics and swimming, the para Badminton team also exceeded its target by collecting 12 gold, nine silver, and seven bronze. Meanwhile, para powerlifting contributed nine gold and four silver.

A perfect record was also achieved by the para judo team, which became the only Indonesian sport to sweep all events it participated in. The Red and White judokas successfully brought home seven gold, three silver, and one bronze.

Indonesia added more medals on the final day of competition through para chess. Several finals held at the Auditorium of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University provided a sweet closing note to the Indonesian contingent's efforts.

After all matches concluded, the ASEAN Para Games 2025 was officially closed with a ceremony at the 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium, Nakhon Ratchasima, on Sunday evening at 19.00 WIB.
