Persib Bandung is reorganizing its squad composition ahead of the second round of the 2025/2026 Super League. So far, the Bandung Maung have released three players while bringing in two new names to strengthen their defense.

Of these two new recruits, one is an experienced European Foreign Player, while the other is a young naturalized pillar of the Indonesian U-23 National Team.

The foreign player signed by Persib is Layvin Kurzawa. The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) left-back was officially announced as a new recruit on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Kurzawa, Personal Choice for New Adventure

Kurzawa emphasized that his move to Bandung was a personal decision without pressure from any party. He views Persib as the ideal place to continue his professional career.

"This is purely my decision. (PERSIB) is the best choice for me and my career," said Kurzawa.

"This is a new adventure and I'm very excited to come and play here.

"I want to help the team, contribute my qualities and show them who I really am," he stated.

Kurzawa's presence is expected to enhance the quality of Persib's left-back sector in terms of experience, leadership, defensive capabilities, and attacking support.

Dion Markx, Future Asset for Defense Line

Alongside Kurzawa, Persib has also secured Dion Markx. The 20-year-old player was announced as a new recruit on Sunday evening, January 25, 2026.

Dion Markx signed a relatively long contract of 2.5 years. Previously, he played for NEC Nijmegen's U-21 team and is now a naturalized player for the Indonesian U-23 National Team.

Dion Markx gained recognition in national Football when playing for the Indonesian U-20 National Team under coach Indra Sjafri. That experience serves as important capital for Dion to compete at the senior level.

At Persib, Dion Markx is projected to add depth to the defensive line, particularly as a center-back. However, his flexibility also allows him to play as a defensive midfielder based on team needs.

Three Players Released, Regeneration Begins

Meanwhile, Persib has also streamlined its squad. Three players have been released through different arrangements.

One player was permanently released: Wiliam Marcilio, who now continues his career with South Korean club Chungnam Asan.

The other two players, Rezaldi Hehanussa and Hambra Hehanussa, were released on loan. This move is considered part of the club's strategy to provide playing minutes while preparing for team regeneration.

By combining experienced players and young talents, Persib demonstrates seriousness in maintaining performance consistency for the second round of the 2025/2026 Super League.
