Against Ratchaburi, Kurzawa Could Make Official Debut

Layvin Kurzawa has the opportunity to make his official debut for Persib Bandung against Ratchaburi in the first leg of the Round of 16 in the AFC Champions League Two (ACL 2) 2025/26 season. The match is scheduled to take place at Ratchaburi Stadium, Na Muang, Thailand, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

The French left-back was previously included in Persib's squad against Malut United at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA) on Friday, February 6, 2026. However, the former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) player did not get playing time in that match.

Despite having only trained briefly with the team, Kurzawa is trusted to join Persib's squad Traveling to Thailand. He departed alongside two other new signings, Dion Markx and Sergio Castel. Kurzawa's presence draws attention, given his experience playing at Europe's highest level with PSG and the French National Team.

Kurzawa emphasized that Persib isn't traveling to Thailand merely for a regular away match. The Maung Bandung squad, he stated, carries big ambitions to achieve maximum results in the first leg to open Qualification Opportunities for the next round.

Therefore, he declared readiness to work hard and contribute his best if given the chance to play in this crucial match. The game at Ratchaburi Stadium is considered a special test, especially as it marks Kurzawa's Asian competition debut with Persib.

"Our (target) is to win this match, display strong mentality, and keep a clean sheet. And we can score goals according to our plan," said Kurzawa.

Regarding the opponent's strength, Kurzawa admitted he lacks detailed knowledge about Ratchaburi. However, he assessed that the Thai team shouldn't be underestimated. Ratchaburi's success in reaching the ACL 2 Round of 16 indicates quality worthy of caution.

"We'll see. We'll strive to give our best in this match," he stated.
