Malaysia emerged as the dominant force at the Indonesia Masters 2026, securing three out of the five titles contested. Competing at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, on Sunday, representatives from the neighboring country demonstrated squad consistency and depth in the doubles events.

Amid Malaysia's dominance, Indonesia still managed to uphold its prestige as the host nation through Alwi Farhan's victory in the men's singles. Of the two Red and White representatives playing in the finals, only Alwi completed his mission flawlessly.

The world number 18 shuttler displayed overwhelming dominance against Thailand's Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul. Alwi won decisively in straight games 21-5, 21-6 in just 25 minutes, a victory that underscored the difference in playing level during the final.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's hopes in the men's doubles were dashed. Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin couldn't withstand the solid play of the fourth-seeded Malaysian pair, Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin Rumsani. The Malaysian duo won in straight games 21-19, 21-13, securing one of their country's three titles.

The success in men's doubles completed Malaysia's supremacy, which had already claimed titles in two other events. In the mixed doubles, Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei showed champion mentality by defeating Denmark's Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje 15-21, 21-17, 21-11.

Malaysia also emerged as champions in the Women's Doubles. Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan were crowned winners without contesting the final after their Japanese opponents Arisa Igarashi/Miyu Takahashi withdrew due to Takahashi suffering from a fever.

The only event that eluded Malaysia was the Women's Singles. This title went to China's Chen Yu Fei, who defeated Thailand's Pitchamon Opatniputh 23-21, 21-13.

The results of the Indonesia Masters 2026 affirm the increasingly competitive landscape of Asian Badminton strength. Malaysia showed dominance in doubles, Indonesia revealed potential in men's singles, while China remained solid in Women's Singles.
