A classic aroma always lives in the equestrian world. From the clatter of Andalusian horses' hooves on Spanish soil to the windy deserts of the Middle East, this sport has always been a symbol of harmony between strength, grace, and luxury.
Within global elite circles, equestrianism is not merely a sport, but a representation of culture and status, a blend of art, tradition, and prestige that transcends time.
One new face breathing life into this tradition is Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts (ADREA), a destination being prepared to open a new chapter in global equestrian history.

Standing on 65,000 square meters of land on Jubail Island, ADREA is designed as the Middle East's first permanent classical riding school. Planned to open in November 2025 under the direction of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this center will be home to the world's finest horses and trained riders seeking to combine technique, art, and luxury in one place.
ADREA is more than just a training arena. It embodies the "haute école" philosophy — the high art of horsemanship possessed by only a handful of institutions worldwide, like the Lipizzan Stallions in Austria or the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre in Jerez, Spain.
The complex features an air-conditioned arena seating 1,200 spectators, air-conditioned stables for 60 horses, a modern rehabilitation clinic, plus an art gallery and museum narrating the long history of the human-horse relationship.
Every detail is meticulously considered, from the architecture blending classic Arab and modern styles, to the quality of sand on the track, regulated for equine comfort and spectator aesthetics.
Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre
For tradition lovers, Spain remains a beacon in the equestrian world. In Jerez de la Frontera stands the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre, a school preserving since 1973 the heritage of Andalusian horses, famed for their grace and intelligence.
Its legendary show, "Cómo bailan los caballos andaluces" — or "How Andalusian Horses Dance" — captivates thousands of tourists annually. In the 1,600-seat arena, white horses perform dances to classical Spanish music, showcasing an almost spiritual harmony between rider and animal. From palaces to arenas, Jerez has made equestrianism a form of cultural expression and national pride.
Horseback Riding as Self-Reflection at NIHI Sumba
Yet equestrian luxury doesn't always mean palaces and formality. Elsewhere, precisely on Sumba Island, Indonesia, the same spirit appears in a more natural form. NIHI Sumba, one of Travel + Leisure's world's best resorts, offers a horseback riding experience integrated with nature.
Here, horses aren't mere status symbols, but bridges between humans and landscape. Guests can ride along the beach at sunset, explore pristine savannahs, or join equine therapy sessions — meditation and healing with horses. All are wrapped in a calm, warm, and personal atmosphere, turning every ride into a journey of self-reflection.
Equestrianism: An Art of Life Full of Philosophy
From Jerez to Jubail, from Andalusian palaces to Sumba's beaches, the common thread is clear: equestrianism is a world born from balance. It teaches that true strength comes from control, not domination; from the relationship built between human and animal, not from mere ambition.
In the hands of nobility, artists, and premium lifestyle connoisseurs, this sport evolves into a statement of an art of living rich in philosophy.
Perhaps that's why the equestrian world always fascinates high society. It's not just spectacle, but an experience demanding patience, discipline, and respect for tradition. It blends aesthetics and performance, combines firmness with gentleness, and offers spaces for reflection unreachable by modernity's clamor.
When arena lights dim and only the soft breath of horses whispers in the air, we're reminded that true luxury isn't always about glitter or grandeur. Sometimes, it manifests in simple moments where humans, nature, and history merge in perfect harmony upon a saddle.
