Year-End Holiday offers more than just changing destinations. Through BINA Indonesia Great Sale 2025: Shopping Tourism in Indonesia, people are invited to make shopping centers part of their Travel itinerary, where recreation, urban culture, and tangible support for domestic products converge.

The national shopping week officially runs simultaneously across Indonesia from December 18, 2025 to January 4, 2026.

Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana called this moment a strategic opportunity to revitalize shopping tourism while boosting domestic consumption, especially during the extended Year-End Holiday.

At the launch event in Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, the Tourism Minister emphasized this movement isn't just about discounts, but part of the domestic travel experience.

"During Indonesia Great Sale, I invite all Indonesians, especially mothers, to shop locally in Indonesia," stated Widiyanti.

BINA Indonesia Great Sale 2025 is designed as a collaborative effort to stimulate the national economy through synergy between retail and tourism sectors.

This program realizes the national Shop in Indonesia Only (BINA) movement, initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs with the Indonesian Shopping Center Tenants Association (HIPPINDO), and led by the Tourism Ministry with cross-ministerial and regional government support.

Beyond mall displays and corridors, Indonesia's shopping tourism tells stories of local diversity.

From Jakarta to Bali, Surabaya to other cities across 24+ provinces, this campaign features regionally themed events including Jakarta Festive Wonder, Bali Nusra Great Sale, and Surabaya Holiday Super Sale.

The shopping experience is enhanced with various incentives. Locals enjoy discounts up to 80 percent, while Foreign Tourists receive VAT refunds up to 11 percent.

Widiyanti expressed hope for achieving the Rp30 trillion transaction target from 412 shopping centers during the campaign period.

This program aligns with the LiburandiIndonesiaAja (HolidayinIndonesiaOnly) campaign. The Tourism Ministry collaborates with online travel agents and 23 industry partners to offer at least 65 travel packages.

These packages combine shopping with trips across the archipelago, making holidays more complete—from hotels to shopping bags.

Cross-sectoral support forms the main foundation. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, represented by Trade Minister Budi Santoso, stated this synergy is crucial for the resilience and sustainability of national shopping programs.

Amid the holiday bustle, BINA Indonesia Great Sale 2025 presents a new perspective: tourism can begin with shopping activities.
