Napoli Knocks Out AC Milan, Il Partenopei Progresses to 2025 Italian Super Cup Final

Napoli secured their spot in the final of the 2025 Italian Super Cup after eliminating AC Milan 2-0 in the semifinal at Al-Awwal Park Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, early Friday morning, December 19, 2025 WIB. This victory in a high-stakes clash solidified Il Partenopei's status as title contenders.

Napoli's goals were scored by David Neres in the 39th minute and Rasmus Hojlund (64'). 

For Milan, this defeat shattered Rossoneri's ambitions as defending champions of the 2024 Italian Super Cup.

AC Milan started aggressively from kickoff, pressuring Napoli's defensive line, though early chances failed to produce serious threats. 

Milan's best first-half opportunity came in the 35th minute when Adrien Rabiot's header veered wide of Napoli's goal.

Napoli countered Milan's pressure with clinical efficiency. In the 39th minute, Il Partenopei broke the deadlock as David Neres' strike gave Napoli a 1-0 halftime lead.

Napoli grew more confident after the break and nearly doubled their advantage in the 54th minute, but Amir Rrahmani's effort was saved by AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

The second Napoli goal arrived in the 64th minute when Rasmus Hojlund's shot overpowered Maignan, making it 2-0. 

AC Milan intensified their attacks to reduce the deficit, but Napoli's resolute defense frustrated Rossoneri. The 2-0 scoreline remained until the final whistle.

This result ended AC Milan's hopes of retaining their Italian Super Cup title. Napoli will face the winner of the other semifinal between Bologna and Inter Milan.
