You might have heard of Footgolf. But confused, what exactly is Footgolf? Soccer, but on a golf course?
So, Footgolf is one of the new sports branches in Indonesia. Although this sport is quite popular abroad, in Indonesia there are only two clubs that offer it, in Batam and Sentul. However, the club that initiated Footgolf in Indonesia is no longer active, so currently there's only one active club located at Palm Hill Golf, Sentul.
Footgolf is a sport with rules identical to golf. You just need to kick with as few strokes as possible into the Green to win.

Long popular, Footgolf has now arrived as a new sports branch in Indonesia, Sobat itsme. Curious about when its international organization was first established?
The Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG) was founded in 2012. However, the sport itself was invented back in 2009 in Europe. Since then, Footgolf spread to the United States and North America in November 2011.
With a concept and rules similar to golf, Footgolf feels more enjoyable. Why? Players get to play Soccer, but without needing to run across the fairway to score. In fact, Footgolf players don't even need to wear soccer boots.
Footgolf combines the accuracy required in Soccer with the concentration needed when playing Golf. These two elements are inseparable, but that's what makes the game fun.
Players are free to choose whether to play competitively or just have fun on the grass. Sobat itsme might be curious, when is the best time to play Footgolf. The ideal time is indeed in the morning before the sun gets too hot. However, a cool afternoon is also pleasant, allowing players to freely watch the sun until it sets.
What's the Difference Between Golf and Footgolf?
Although similar, Footgolf and Golf do have differences. The difference lies in the ball and how it's played. Golf uses a ball with a minimum diameter of 42.67 millimeters and a maximum weight of 45.93 grams, whereas Footgolf uses a size 5 soccer ball. This means the ball used in Footgolf has the same specifications as the one used in Soccer.
Besides the ball, Footgolf has another difference from Golf, Sobat itsme, namely the outfit. It's important to wear the right outfit when playing Footgolf. Proper attire provides comfort, enhances performance, prevents injury, regulates body temperature, and boosts confidence. Therefore, the outfit worn for Golf and Footgolf needs to be different.
