Real Madrid is currently in a rough patch, but Los Blancos coach Xabi Alonso shows no signs of panic. Three consecutive draws in the 2025/2026 Spanish League, most recently a 1-1 stalemate against Girona, have only reinforced Alonso's emphasis on mental stability and team unity during difficult periods.
In the match at Montivili Stadium early Monday morning WIB, Madrid settled for one point after Kylian Mbappé's 67th-minute goal only managed to equalize Girona's lead established by Azzedine Ounahi just before halftime. Nevertheless, Alonso believes his team's reaction is moving in the right direction.
"I’m not complaining about anything because I actually liked the players' reaction on the field. What we did might not have turned things around, but we were always close to doing so," stated Alonso as quoted from Real Madrid's official website.

Before the Girona draw, Madrid also tied against Rayo Vallecano (0-0) and Elche (2-2), all in away matches. However, Alonso insists this series of results shouldn’t be met with overreaction.
He instead emphasizes the importance of unity and the ability to self-critique objectively.
"We must maintain our togetherness, conduct necessary self-criticism, and always nurture the desire to win during away games. Our next opportunity comes against Bilbao," he affirmed.
Madrid now has 33 points from 14 matches, trailing leader Barcelona by one point (34 points).
This situation makes their upcoming away clash against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, December 4, 2025 (early morning WIB) a crucial moment to return to winning ways.
