The atmosphere in Mataram City felt different heading into the first weekend of October 2025. The MotoGP Mandalika event brought special blessings for hoteliers. Whereas occupancy rates had previously been concerning, hotel rooms in Mataram were now nearly full.
"Guests are scheduled to stay until October 5, 2025, or until the MotoGP event concludes," stated Chairman of the Mataram Hotel Association (AHM), I Made Adiyasa Kurniawan, in Mataram on Friday, October 3, 2025.
He noted that based on the latest report as of October 2, average occupancy among AHM member hotels had reached 85 percent.

This surge felt remarkable given that at the end of September, occupancy rates were still hovering between 30-50 percent.
"With current hotel occupancy conditions, we're extremely grateful and hope the MotoGP activities proceed safely and smoothly," he said.
Beyond hotel operators, the city government also welcomed the event with full preparedness.
Mataram City Regional Secretary (Sekda), H. Lalu Alwan Basri, urged residents to maintain clean and secure surroundings.
"Regional safety and comfort are key factors determining the smoothness and success of this MotoGP event, ensuring guests feel at home in Mataram specifically and NTB generally," he stated.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of achieving "three successes" in major events: operational success, economic success, and successful promotion of tourism potential.
"City conduciveness is crucial for the event's success, especially since Mataram serves as the buffer zone for the Mandalika Creative Economic Zone (KEK)," he explained.
Both businesses and government expressed optimism that MotoGP would not only be a global spectacle but also a moment to showcase Mataram and NTB as comfortable, friendly destinations brimming with tourism potential. (Antara)
