Persija vs Persib at GBK, The Classic Duel for the Second Week of the 2026 Super League.

The classic derby between Persija Jakarta and Persib Bandung is scheduled to be held once again at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, Jakarta. This fixture will take place in the second week of the 2026/2027 Super League, on 12 September at 15.30 WIB.

Persija Jakarta President Mohammad Prapanca confirmed the club has obtained official permission from stadium management to use the venue, which has an approximate spectator capacity of 78,000.

"We have received confirmation from GBK management. Right after we received the draft schedule yesterday, we immediately submitted our booking request for the available dates," Prapanca told reporters in Jakarta on Sunday.

Persija is required to finalise their home stadium arrangements quickly for the upcoming season. Alongside GBK, the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) is also listed as an alternative home venue option for the Macan Kemayoran side.

Persija Plans to Split Home Fixtures Between GBK and JIS

Hosting matches at GBK in September does not come without challenges. Persija still needs to coordinate further with stadium management, as scheduled maintenance works may occur during this period.

This uncertainty is also impacted by the Indonesian national team's potential plan to use GBK for upcoming FIFA Match Day fixtures. For this reason, Persija is preparing backup options to ensure their home match schedule proceeds uninterrupted.

"Our ideal target is to split home matches 50/50 between GBK and JIS. We are still in active coordination with JIS management, which is why all fixtures are temporarily registered to GBK first in the initial 2026/2027 Super League draft schedule," Prapanca stated.

If this plan proceeds as intended, Persija will host home matches across both GBK and JIS throughout the full season. However, for the high-profile fixture against Persib, GBK has already been formally confirmed as the host venue.

Meetings between Persija and Persib always carry unique public appeal. This historic rivalry does not only deliver intense on-pitch competition, it is consistently one of the most anticipated fixtures on the entire Indonesian football calendar.

Persija Prepares Pre-Season Training Camp in Thailand

Ahead of the 2026/2027 Super League campaign, Persija will first complete an intensive pre-season preparation program. The Macan Kemayoran squad is scheduled to hold an official training camp (TC) in Thailand starting 10 August.

This programme forms part of the team's full preparations ahead of the new season, which is due to kick off on 26 August.

Persija will play a series of friendly trial matches during this pre-season period. These fixtures will be used to refine the team's playing system, as well as give the coaching staff the opportunity to fully evaluate the squad composition.
