Indonesian Golf Team Pursues Best Performance Ahead of the 2026 Asian Games

Indonesia's golf team continues to finalize preparations ahead of the 2026 Asian Games. For this cycle, the national training camp program is being run under a decentralized system, which allows athletes to continue training while also remaining active in various international tournaments.

Indonesian national golf team head coach Alga Topan explained that this approach was selected so that golfers can maintain a competitive match atmosphere throughout their 2026 Asian Games preparation period.

According to Topan, combining structured training programs with competitive matches is a critical component to maintain consistent athlete performance.

"The national golf training program has been operating on a decentralized basis. Every athlete trains and competes according to pre-arranged match schedules, for both professional and amateur athletes," stated Alga on Friday, 8 August 2026.

Six Golfers Prepared For The 2026 Asian Games

Indonesia will field six golfers at the 2026 Asian Games. This squad is composed of three male athletes and three female athletes.

The men's division will be represented by Jonathan Wijono, Naraajie Emerald Ramadhan Putra, and amateur golfer Randy Arbenata Mohamad Bintang.

Meanwhile, the women's team will be strengthened by Kristina Natalia Yoko, Holly Victoria Halim, and amateur golfer Elaine Widjaja.

Alongside receiving structured training programs, all six athletes will also take part in a series of match fixtures. These tournaments will act as a benchmark to measure performance progress, as well as build competitive match experience ahead of the 2026 Asian Games competition.

For the professional golfers, Jonathan Wijono and Naraajie Emerald Ramadhan Putra are scheduled to compete in the 2026 Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament.

This tournament is listed as one of the trial events for the 2026 Asian Games preparations. Following this event, both players will continue their competitive schedule competing on the Asian Tour and Asian Development Tour (ADT) circuits.

Athletes Sharpened Through International Competition

Jonathan and Naraajie's fixture list does not end at the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament. Entering September, both golfers are scheduled to compete in multiple Asian Tour and ADT series events held across different countries.

Participation in this series of competitions is expected to build competitive match experience, as well as help the athletes peak their performance ahead of the Asian Games.

"Aside from the trial event at the Ciputra ADT tournament, Jonathan Wijono and Naraajie will also take part in Asian Tour and ADT events across multiple countries in September, before they compete at the Asian Games," Alga added.

Preparations are also underway for the amateur golfers. Randy Arbenata Mohamad Bintang will be given the opportunity to hone his abilities through international competitions in September.

Randy is scheduled to compete at the Nomura Cup hosted in Beijing, China, before continuing his competitive campaign at the Putra Cup in Hong Kong.

This series of fixtures forms part of the Indonesian golf team's strategy to build full preparedness for the athletes. Beyond technical skill, experience competing against opponents from different nations is also expected to help strengthen the athletes' mental resilience and competitive consistency.

Through the combination of structured training and international competition, the Indonesian golf team aims to have all athletes reach their peak performance levels when the 2026 Asian Games takes place, and deliver the best possible results for the Red and White national flag.
