John Herdman Selects 50 Players for the 2026 ASEAN Championship
Indonesia attempted to seize control of the game from the opening whistle. However, poor final finishing prevented the Garuda squad from taking an early lead.
Timor Leste was reduced to 10 players from the 21st minute. Jackson Flower received his second yellow card for a foul committed against Thom Haye.
Even with the numerical advantage, Indonesia remained unable to convert their created chances.
Timor Leste's compact defensive block and the sharp performance of goalkeeper Dylan Jose made it extremely difficult for Indonesia to break the deadlock.
Despite generating multiple dangerous attacking opportunities, Indonesia were forced to settle for a goalless scoreline at the half-time break.
Indonesia Dominated The Second Half
John Herdman implemented multiple player changes at the start of the second half. The English head coach brought on Ragnar Oratmangoen, Egy Maulana Vikri, Sandy Walsh, Shayne Pattynama and Dony Tri Pamungkas to shift the match momentum.
Indonesia finally broke the deadlock in the 75th minute. Shayne Pattynama opened the scoring for Garuda after finishing off Dony Tri Pamungkas' cross delivery.
Two minutes later, Thom Haye doubled Indonesia's lead with an accurate free kick that found the top right corner of Dylan Jose's goal.
Indonesia did not halt their attacking pressure. Three minutes after Haye's goal, Mitchell Baker also registered on the scoresheet.
The young Indonesian striker converted Ragnar Oratmangoen's low cutback pass to extend Indonesia's advantage to 3-0.
This scoreline remained unchanged until the full time whistle.
With the 3 additional points secured from this victory, Indonesia have now accumulated 6 points from two matches played.
This result lifts the Garuda squad to the top of the temporary Group A standings.
