Jakarta – The 2026 Bad Homburg Open title is not simply another addition to Aldila Sutjiadi's trophy collection. This first WTA 500 crown of the Indonesian women's doubles player's career also acts as a critical confidence boost ahead of 2026 Wimbledon, the grass-court Grand Slam tournament set to commence this week at the All England Club in London.

Aldila confirmed that her success in Bad Homburg has transformed her mentality heading into the next competition. For her, this biggest title of her professional career serves as proof that consistent hard work and steady performance improvements allow her to compete at the sport's highest level.

"This title definitely lifts my confidence for the next tournament, which is Wimbledon. It will also be ongoing motivation moving forward. This is my first title at this tier, so I absolutely want to chase more titles after this, including at higher-level WTA events," Aldila told Antara on Monday, 29 June 2026.

Partnered with Russian tennis player Vera Zvonareva, Aldila secured the Bad Homburg Open WTA 500 title in Germany after defeating third seeds Demi Schuurs / Ellen Perez 6-1, 4-6, 10-5 in the final match. This result stands as Aldila's greatest career milestone at WTA level, and valuable preparation ahead of the most prestigious grass-court Grand Slam.

Aldila explained that the foundation of her success in Bad Homburg was not just technical skill or match strategy, but unwavering belief in her own playing ability. She managed to sustain her peak performance standard consistently from the opening round all the way through the final.

"As long as I execute my game properly, I know I can win this tournament. That belief showed in every single match right up until I won the title," she stated.

Aldila also recognised the vital role of her coach Christopher Rungkat, who provided constant support throughout the tournament. She noted Rungkat consistently reminded her to trust the process, both during winning runs and when facing difficulties.

Christopher Rungkat assessed that the Bad Homburg title is ideal preparation for Wimbledon. The confidence Aldila gained from this victory is expected to be a key asset when she reunites with Janice Tjen for the women's doubles draw.

Aldila and Janice are scheduled to face home pairing Harriet Dart / Maia Lumsden in the Wimbledon first round. Meanwhile, Janice will also compete in the women's singles draw, where she will meet 22nd seed Leylah Fernandez of Canada.

The next challenge now awaits at Wimbledon. Fresh off a WTA 500 title and operating at career-high confidence levels, Aldila has the opportunity to prove that her Bad Homburg success was not just a one-off achievement, but the start of consistent competitive form at Grand Slam level.
