Indonesia National Team is drawn into Group A of the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup Premier Division alongside Malaysia, Singapore, and India. The draw result sets up tight competition, as Indonesia will face two Southeast Asian rivals plus an invited guest side from South Asia.

The group draw for the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup was officially announced on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. Based on announcements released by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Indonesia is confirmed as one of the host nations for this inaugural FIFA tournament for the Southeast Asian region.

The Garuda Squad will play all of their Premier Division Group A matches at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) in Jakarta. Home crowd support stands as a key advantage for John Herdman's side throughout the group stage contest.

Indonesia will go up against Malaysia, Singapore, and India. The fixture against Malaysia will carry its own historic regional rivalry atmosphere, while Singapore is also a very familiar opponent for Indonesia at regional competition level.

India brings a different dynamic to the group as the official FIFA invited guest team, meaning Group A will not be an all-Southeast Asian contest.

Vietnam Drawn In Same Group As Thailand

Meanwhile, Premier Division Group B consists of Vietnam, Thailand, Pakistan, and the Philippines. All matches for this group will also be hosted in Indonesia.

Pakistan is one of the invited guest teams for this tournament, having replaced China which withdrew before the draw process commenced.

Challenge Division To Be Hosted In Hong Kong

The 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup also features a Challenge Division as the second tier of the competition. All Challenge Division matches will be held in Hong Kong.

Challenge Division Group A comprises Hong Kong, Myanmar, and Brunei Darussalam. Meanwhile Group B will pit Cambodia, Laos, and Timor Leste against one another.

The 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup is scheduled to run from 23 September to 3 October 2026, held within the official FIFA Matchday window.

Across the 11-day tournament, each participating side will play an average of three group stage matches. The winner of each group will then qualify directly to the final match.
