Lucas Herbert Secures the LIV Golf UK 2026 Title With a New Record

Australian golfer Lucas Herbert put on an impressive performance as he claimed the 2026 LIV Golf UK title in Staffordshire. Herbert dominated the entire tournament and set a new record with a total score of 30 under par, the lowest winning score recorded since LIV Golf was first launched in 2022.

Herbert arrived in England with high confidence after finishing in T-6 position at The Open in Royal Birkdale the previous week. In the final major tournament of the season, he ended just four strokes behind eventual champion Ryan Fox.

He carried this momentum into the LIV Golf UK event at Rocester. The 30-year-old golfer maintained consistent form across three rounds, closing out the tournament with a six stroke lead over English golfer Tyrrell Hatton, and finishing nine strokes clear of Bryson DeChambeau.

Herbert's record is made even more remarkable as he also recorded 30 birdies throughout the tournament, the highest number ever achieved in a single LIV Golf event.

Herbert's outstanding form was visible right from the first round. He carded an 11 under 61 thanks to 10 birdies and one eagle. Even his worst round of the week only returned a score of three under 69 on Saturday, proving his full consistency from the start until the end of the competition.

"It feels really good to play like this today, especially when I was under pressure from two of the best players in the world," said Herbert.

This title in Staffordshire marks Herbert's second LIV Golf win of the 2026 season, following his victory at the Virginia series back in May. This result further cements his status as one of the most consistent golfers competing this season.

Tyrrell Hatton did manage to apply pressure during the final round. The home golfer shot a nine under 63 on Sunday, hoping to use the local crowd support to catch up to Herbert.

However, Herbert's exceptional performance foiled Hatton's attempt to turn the tide.

"I wanted to start the round fast, and I managed to pull that off. Unfortunately, Lucas did exactly the same thing," Hatton stated.

Even though he failed to take the title in front of his own supporters, Hatton still gave full appreciation for his rival's performance.

"It would have been amazing to win in front of my home fans, but I gave everything I had. Lucas played absolutely incredible all week," Hatton praised.

Victory at LIV Golf UK strengthens Herbert's positive form throughout the 2026 season. After delivering competitive displays at the major championship and breaking LIV Golf records, the Australian golfer has become one of the names that must be taken seriously in title battles for the remainder of the season.
