Persib Bandung's new striker Balsa Sekulic has stated he cannot wait to make his debut for the Blue Prince in the 2026/2027 season. The Montenegrin forward is eager to experience matchday atmosphere first-hand, and play in front of thousands of Bobotoh - a group he has long recognised as one of the most passionate supporter bases in football.

Signed during the transfer window ahead of the 2026/2027 BRI Super League kickoff, Sekulic named Persib's huge public reputation as one of the core reasons he accepted an offer from the beloved West Java club.

Beyond that, the chance to compete in Asian continental competition also acted as a major pull that convinced him to join the reigning Super League champions.

Eager To Experience The Bobotoh Atmosphere

Balsa Sekulic confirmed he was already aware Persib would compete at Asian level this season, describing this opportunity as a challenge he has long anticipated.

Separately, he hopes to earn his first official match minutes for Persib as soon as possible, and feel the unfiltered support of Bobotoh inside the stadium.

"Oh yes, absolutely. I already knew about that, about Persib entering Asian competition. I just cannot wait to get out on the pitch, pick up my first playing minutes, and perform right in front of these incredible Bobotoh fans," Sekulic stated.

Persib will operate on a dense fixture schedule this season across multiple competitions. Sekulic's arrival is expected to boost the frontline's finishing sharpness, while also expanding tactical options for the coaching staff.

Rapid Adaptation In Bandung

Sekulic has now been based in Bandung for around one week. Despite the short timeframe, his onboarding process has run smoothly thanks to the warm welcome extended by all members of the club.

The 28-year-old attacker stated he immediately felt comfortable in his new environment, and has already begun adjusting to his teammates and coaching team.

"It's been fantastic. I feel really good here. I love the local weather, the food, and every single teammate plus coach has treated me so well. Everything is going perfectly," he said.

Building Chemistry Ahead Of The New Campaign

Alongside settling into daily life in Bandung, Sekulic is also maximising every training session to internalise Persib's playing characteristics.

He is actively working to build on-pitch chemistry with his teammates, to integrate smoothly into the tactical system implemented by the coaching team.

This preparation will form a critical foundation, as Persib face a demanding upcoming season with challenges across both domestic league and Asian continental competition.
