Persib Bandung continues to take strategic steps off the field. The club competing in the Super League held a meeting with the French Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN, Fabien Penone, in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
This agenda is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and France through Football as an effective medium of diplomacy.
"Football plays a strategic role as a bridge for cross-country communication, including in building relationships with governments and the private sector," said Persib's coach, Bojan Hodak, during the event.

The event, which started at 11:00 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB), took place at the French Residence (Wisma Prancis) in Menteng, Central Jakarta. Ambassador Penone personally welcomed the Persib delegation upon their arrival in the main corridor area.
Several key figures attended the occasion. French defender Layvin Kurzawa, along with Persib's President Director, Glenn Timothy Sugita, were the first to arrive. Shortly after, striker Andrew Jung followed, and then the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, also attended.
In a relaxed and open atmosphere in front of the media, Kurzawa was seen conversing directly with Ambassador Penone. The interaction was warm, reflecting the closeness fostered through football.
In his remarks, Glenn emphasized that the presence of two French players in the Persib Squad this season has had a significant impact, both on the team's performance and commercial partnership opportunities.
“Only this year do we have the opportunity to have two French players on the team. This is a joy for us,” said Glenn.
He added that the presence of international players can open up new opportunities, especially in attracting interest from global sponsors.
“Not only because we have more French players at Persib, but there is also the possibility of attracting more sponsors,” he said.
Furthermore, Glenn believes that having players with international backgrounds also enhances Persib's appeal globally while expanding the club's cooperation network.
To conclude the event, Persib presented the Ambassador with their latest number 10 jersey bearing Penone's name. This symbolic moment marked the strong relationship being built, before the event closed with a networking session.
