The second set saw tighter competition as Kostyuk/Tauson intensified pressure, forcing a tie-break. However, the Indonesian pair remained composed and dominated the decisive moments.
Janice/Aldila surged in the tie-break with a commanding 7-1 lead, securing their spot in the next round and solidifying their strong performance at this elite tournament.
This result guarantees Janice and Aldila a place in the Madrid Open 2026 Round of 16. They await the winner of the match between Eri Hozumi/Fang-Hsien Wu and sixth seeds Cristina Bucsa/Nicole Melichar-Martinez.
For Janice, this achievement complements a positive week in Madrid, following her encouraging singles result where she reached the second round by defeating Russia's Alina Charaeva.
In that singles match, Janice faced early pressure but rallied to win in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
This victory ended Janice's negative streak of first-round exits in her previous four tournaments.
Now partnered with Aldila Sutjiadi in doubles, Janice carries Indonesia's hopes for further progress at the Madrid Open 2026.
