England National Team only picked up one point after being held to a goalless draw by Ghana in their second 2026 World Cup Group L fixture at Boston Stadium, United States on Wednesday. The Three Lions lead striker Harry Kane struggled to penetrate Ghana's compact defensive block.
This single point keeps England sitting top of the provisional Group L Standings with a total of four points. Ghana sits right behind in second place with an identical points tally.
England took attacking initiative immediately from kick-off. Thomas Tuchel's side attempted to break down Ghana's defence through link-up play between Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Harry Kane.

They successfully pinned Ghana inside their own defensive half. By the 18th minute, The Three Lions had already registered 88 percent ball possession.
Despite full domination, England failed to find gaps through Ghana's backline. The African side defended with strict discipline that severely restricted movement space for all England players.
England's best first half chance arrived in the 37th minute. Noni Madueke delivered a cross which Declan Rice met with a header inside the penalty box, but the effort floated just over Ghana's crossbar.
Into the second half, England remained aggressive and continued to control possession, while Ghana sat deep in defence and launched occasional counter-attacks.
Both Madueke and Anthony Gordon created opportunities to put England ahead, but neither managed to break the deadlock.
England ramped up pressure as the match entered its final minutes. Harry Kane repeatedly tried to find space inside Ghana's defensive area, but tight man-marking denied the England striker any clear shooting chances.
The clearest chance of the entire match fell to Nico O'Reilly, but his powerful strike crashed against the crossbar. The 0-0 scoreline held until the full time whistle.
For the final group stage match, England will face Panama, while Ghana will play against Croatia.
