The Canada national team recorded a night that will be remembered forever in their Football history. Playing in front of home supporters at BC Place Stadium, Vancouver, Canada crushed Qatar with a dominant 6-0 scoreline in the ongoing 2026 World Cup Group B fixture, early Friday morning WITA.

This victory was far more than just three extra points. It became Canada's first ever win at the World Cup final tournament, while also clearing a wide path for them to advance to the Round of 32.

On the opposite side, it was a nightmare evening for Qatar. Two red cards and a completely fragile defensive line failed to stop the relentless waves of attacks from the home side throughout the entire match.

Right from the opening minutes, Canada showed clear ambition to secure the win. The home squad's high pressing forced Qatar onto the defensive.

Canada opened their lead in the 16th minute. Following a scramble inside Qatar's penalty area, Cyle Larin latched onto a loose ball to put Canada ahead 1-0.

This goal further boosted Canada's confidence, as they pinned the opposition defence deep in their own half.

In the 29th minute, Jonathan David doubled Canada's advantage. David's volleyed strike could not be stopped by Qatar's Goalkeeper.

Qatar's misery deepened just four minutes later. Defender Homam Ahmed was shown a straight red card after a VAR review confirmed he had fouled Tajon Buchanan to deny a clear fast break opportunity.

Reduced to 10 men, Qatar faced even greater difficulty. Canada capitalised on this situation, continuing to apply heavy pressure right up until half time.

During first half stoppage time, Jonathan David found the net once again. He reacted to a headed flick-on from Larin to fire home, making the score 3-0.

As the second half kicked off, the situation only worsened for the Asian representative. In the 53rd minute, Assim Madibo was sent off by the referee for a dangerous challenge on Ismaël Koné.

This incident sparked tensions on the pitch, especially after Koné suffered a serious leg Injury and had to be substituted off the field.

Now holding a two-player numerical advantage, Canada took full control of the match. Substitute Nathan Saliba added to Qatar's suffering with a goal in the 64th minute.

Constant attacking pressure down the flanks then forced Mohamed Al-Mannai into scoring an own goal, extending the scoreline to 5-0 for Canada.

Even with the massive lead, Canada did not ease off their playing intensity. They continued pushing for additional goals right up until the final minutes of the match.

In second half Injury time, Jonathan David capped off an outstanding individual performance by completing his hat-trick. David's third goal concluded Canada's goal fest and sealed the emphatic 6-0 victory.

This result puts Canada on four points from two matches, keeping their hopes alive to progress into the knockout stage.
