Swiss National Team secured their first victory at the 2026 World Cup. Facing Bosnia-Herzegovina for the second Group B fixture at Los Angeles Stadium, United States early Friday morning WIB, Switzerland claimed a convincing 4-1 win.

Johan Manzambi scored two out of Switzerland's four goals. This SC Freiburg midfielder's outstanding performance became the turning point for Switzerland after the first half ended goalless.

This result puts Switzerland at the top of the provisional Standings for Group B with 4 points collected from two matches. Meanwhile, Bosnia-Herzegovina sits at the very bottom of the Standings with only 1 point.

Switzerland took full control of the match from the opening minute. Dan Ndoye threatened Bosnia's goal in the 10th minute, but his shot drifted wide past the left side of Nikola Vasilj's goal.

Bosnia-Herzegovina stayed mostly defensive throughout the first half and struggled to build structured attacks. Their best chance came in the 38th minute via Amar Dedic, which was comfortably saved by Gregor Kobel.

Despite dominating ball possession and creating far more scoring chances, Switzerland failed to break the deadlock before the halftime break. The first half closed with a 0-0 score.

Upon entering the second half, Murat Yakin's squad intensified their pressure. After Breel Embolo's attempt was denied by Vasilj in the 63rd minute, Switzerland finally broke through via Johan Manzambi's goal in the 74th minute, taking a 1-0 lead.

Match momentum swung completely in Switzerland's favour after Bosnia lost Tarik Muharemovic. The Bosnian defender was shown a straight red card for a foul on Embolo.

Switzerland capitalised on their numerical advantage to extend their lead. In the 84th minute, Ruben Vargas doubled the advantage by converting Embolo's through pass.

Six minutes later, Manzambi once again demonstrated his clinical finishing. He finished off Vargas' assist perfectly to score his second goal, Putting Switzerland 3-0 ahead.

Bosnia pulled one consolation goal back when Ermin Mahmic scored a spectacular long-range strike from outside the penalty box in the 90+3rd minute.

However, Switzerland responded in the 90+7th minute via a penalty kick. Team captain Granit Xhaka stepped up as the designated taker, converted the spot kick flawlessly, and confirmed the dominant 4-1 victory.
