Novak Djokovic has once again rewritten tennis history. At 38 years old, the Serbian tennis player has officially secured his spot in the 2025 ATP Finals, matching Roger Federer's record of 18 qualifications to the most prestigious season-ending tournament in tennis.

The news was confirmed by the ATP when the draws for the ATP 500 tournaments in Basel and Vienna were released on Sunday, October 19, 2025. With this achievement, Djokovic follows two young stars who had earlier secured their tickets to Turin: Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

"Djokovic is confirmed to qualify for the 2025 season-ending tournament when the draws for the ATP 500 tournaments in Basel and Vienna were released," wrote the ATP.

This statement might sound formal, but behind it lies profound significance confirming that Djokovic is far from finished.

Still Hungry at 38 Years Old

The 2025 season proves Djokovic isn't merely chasing records—he competes with the same hunger as two decades ago.

His most monumental achievement came with his 100th tour-level title in Geneva. He now stands as the third player in the Open Era to reach this historic milestone, joining Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103).

Beyond titles, consistency remains key. This year, Djokovic reached semifinals in all four Grand Slams—Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and US Open. This marks the seventh time in his career he's reached at least the semifinals in all four majors within a single season. A statistic underscoring the rarity of Novak Djokovic's endurance and mental discipline.

Unrelenting Dominance

Amid rapidly emerging young talents, Djokovic demonstrates how experience and composure conquer new generations. He also reached the ATP Masters 1000 final in Miami and the semifinals in Shanghai, proving his rhythm remains undiminished.

The player who debuted at the ATP Finals in 2007 now holds eight consecutive qualifications, missing only the 2017 edition due to injury. With 50 wins and 18 losses in the event, Djokovic holds the record of seven titles—first claimed in 2008 and most recently in 2023.

Notably, two of his last four trophies were won in Turin—the very city now witnessing the maestro's return.

Djokovic isn't just a legend resting on past glories; he continues writing history. While Alcaraz and Sinner are hailed as modern tennis' new faces, Djokovic stands firm as a symbol of perseverance, professionalism, and the art of staying atop.

Turin Awaits, History Still Writing Its Pages

The 2025 ATP Finals will occur at Inalpi Arena, Turin, from November 9–16. The tournament features the world's eight best players based on current season rankings.

For Djokovic, this event isn't just a season finale—it's a stage to extend his legacy.

While many legends choose retirement, Djokovic still runs, still roars, and still eyes trophies with the same intensity as twenty years ago. Tennis evolves, generations shift, but Novak Djokovic's passion? It still burns.
