Borneo FC chooses to remain focused on maintaining their championship chances in the Super League 2025/2026 despite their closest rival, Persib Bandung, recently securing an important victory over Persija Jakarta.
Persib currently leads the provisional Standings with 75 points after a 2-1 win against Persija. Meanwhile, Borneo FC sits in second place with 72 points, though Pesut Etam still has one game in hand compared to Maung Bandung.
This situation intensifies the championship race as the competition enters its final weeks.

In their next match, Borneo FC is scheduled to face Bali United in Week 32 of the Super League at Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Borneo FC's key striker, Koldo Obieta, stressed that his team refuses to be distracted by Match Result of Persib versus Persija. He stated their primary focus is winning all three remaining matches.
“We now have three finals left and are ready to fight for the championship title. Every match is a final,” he said, quoted from Borneo FC's official website.
“We focus on our own team. We know we must win these games, and if we accomplish that, we believe we'll keep pushing forward,” he continued.
The Spanish player also expressed confidence that Borneo FC can sustain the positive momentum built through their previous six consecutive wins.
“Continuing this positive trend, believing in our championship possibilities, and focusing on the next match. That remains the absolute priority,” he added.
Obieta's sharp form this season has been crucial to Borneo FC's impressive performance. In 13 appearances for Pesut Etam, he has recorded seven goals and three assists.
This productivity makes Borneo FC's attack increasingly threatening amid the tight battle for the Super League 2025/2026 championship.
