Crystal Palace will face Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League 2026 final after both teams successfully passed the semifinals with impressive performances. The summit match of Europe's third-tier competition is scheduled to take place at Red Bull Arena, Leipzig, Germany, on Thursday, May 27.

For Crystal Palace, this match marks a historic moment as they reach a European final for the first time. Oliver Glasner's squad secured their spot by eliminating Ukrainian representatives Shakhtar Donetsk with a 2-1 victory in the second leg semifinal at Selhurst Park on Friday.

This result sent The Eagles to the final with a 5-2 aggregate win after their 3-1 first-leg victory in Krakow.

Despite entering with an aggregate advantage, Crystal Palace attacked from the start in front of their home supporters. Their pressure paid off in the 25th minute.

The hosts took the lead through an own goal by Pedro Henrique, who failed to anticipate the ball's trajectory and inadvertently put Shakhtar behind.

However, Arda Turan's visiting team didn't surrender easily. Shakhtar equalized 1-1 through Eguinaldo's goal in the 34th minute.

Entering the second half, Shakhtar tried to take control of the game to overcome the aggregate deficit. But Crystal Palace's disciplined defense thwarted their efforts.

As Shakhtar pushed forward offensively, Palace exploited the open spaces through effective counter-attacks.

Ismaila Sarr became the match-winner for The Eagles after scoring in the 52nd minute. This goal secured the 2-1 victory and sealed Crystal Palace's place in their first European final in Club History.

In the upcoming final, Palace will face surprise Spanish contenders Rayo Vallecano.

The Madrid-based club advanced after eliminating France's Strasbourg 2-0 on aggregate.

In the second leg at Stade de la Meinau, Rayo won 1-0 to confirm their dominance over the Ligue 1 representatives.

The winning goal was scored by Brazilian striker Alemao in the 42nd minute, replicating their identical 1-0 first-leg victory.

Rayo Vallecano's success in reaching the final also marks a special achievement for a club traditionally known as underdogs in Spain's domestic competitions.

Now, both Crystal Palace and Rayo Vallecano stand one step away from history. The clubs will face each other in Leipzig to pursue their first European trophy in what promises to be an intense and emotional showdown.
