Eliano Reijnders' determination to lead Persib Bandung to victory has drawn attention ahead of the postponed BRI Super League 2025/2026 match against Borneo FC. This crucial encounter will take place at Segiri Stadium on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 8:30 PM Western Indonesia Time.

For Persib, this duel holds strategic significance in the title race. A win over Borneo FC could potentially extend their lead at the top of the standings before the competition enters a break.

Reijnders emphasized that three points from Samarinda would provide a significant advantage for Maung Bandung heading into the season's final stretch.

"This is certainly important. If we can win, we could gain a seven-point lead over them, making things easier for us going forward," stated Eliano as quoted from Persib's official website on Thursday.

Persib currently leads the standings with 57 points. Maung Bandung solidified their position after securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Persik Kediri at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium earlier this week.

This result has boosted the confidence of Bojan Hodak's squad ahead of the challenging away fixture.

However, they remain aware that facing Borneo FC at home won't be easy.

Pesut Etam also arrives with positive momentum. The hosts recently recorded a resounding 5-1 victory over Persebaya Surabaya in Samarinda.

This situation suggests an open contest between these top teams, with both sides showing sharp form in their recent matches.

Reijnders acknowledged the away match at Borneo's headquarters would be a major test for Persib. Nevertheless, he confirmed all players remain focused on bringing home three points from Kalimantan.

"It will undoubtedly be a tough match, and we'll see the outcome," said Eliano, who has made 27 appearances with two assists across all competitions for Persib this season.

The 24-year-old has become a crucial part of Persib's squad rotation this season. His consistent midfield performances have helped maintain Maung Bandung's balance throughout the campaign.

Persib also carries positive momentum from the teams' first meeting this season. Last December in Bandung, Maung Bandung defeated Borneo FC 3-1.

Borneo initially took the lead through Joel Vinicius' goal. But Persib rallied to turn the game around with goals from Ramon Souza, Federico Barba, and Saddil Ramdani.

That victory demonstrated Persib's ability to withstand pressure from strong rivals. However, the atmosphere in Samarinda promises to be distinctly different.

Now, with the top spot in the standings at stake, Eliano Reijnders and Persib Bandung's resolve to conquer Borneo FC stands as one of the season's most compelling storylines in the BRI Super League title race.
