Champions League Semifinal: Enrique Claims PSG Has Best Quality Despite Bayern's Consistency

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are looking ahead to the Champions League semifinals with full confidence. Ahead of the first leg clash against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes, Paris, on Wednesday, April 29 early morning WIB, coach Luis Enrique asserted that the quality of the PSG squad remains at the highest level in Europe.

While acknowledging Bayern as the most consistent team this season, Enrique did not hesitate to state that his team has the best standard of play compared to their other rivals. This statement signals that the defending champions are ready to face their biggest challenge of the season.

"In terms of consistency, Bayern are slightly ahead of us (PSG and Arsenal) because they have only lost two matches, but when we talk about what we have shown as a team, we are at the top level. And no team is better than us," said Enrique via the club's official website.

This confidence is not without reason. PSG did struggle in the league phase and had to go through the playoffs to reach the knockout stages. However, since entering the Round of 16, Les Parisiens have shown Champion character with efficient attacking play and a competitive mentality.

"I said this after we failed to make the top eight in the league phase, that I don't see any team better than us," said the Spanish coach.

This match brings together two teams with outstanding offensive performances. Bayern have been sharp, scoring 16 goals throughout the knockout phase, while PSG have netted 12 goals. 

Both clubs also possess an ideal balance between their front line and defense, predicting a high-intensity duel in Paris.

Bayern arrive as Bundesliga champions and have tasted defeat only a few times this season. However, PSG have the advantage of playing at home and the momentum as defending champions.

Enrique also highlighted the threat from Bayern's wingers, featuring Luis Diaz and Michael Olise. Nevertheless, the former Barcelona coach confirmed that PSG will not change their playing identity.

Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes will remain their main weapons through aggression from the flanks. 

"Of course they also have to defend, but we know that we have to attack more than defend if we want to win. We are fully aware of How difficult this match is and we must know how to defend very well," said the former coach of Barcelona and the Spanish National Team.

With high confidence from Enrique and the equal quality of both teams, the Champions League semifinal has the potential to be one of the best matches of the season.
