Preparations for the Ryder Cup 2027 are accelerating, but the prestigious Golf Tournament has already sparked major controversy over ticket prices. Instead of building enthusiasm, the latest rates have triggered widespread disappointment among European golf fans.

The Ryder Cup 2027 will be held at Adare Manor, County Limerick, Ireland, from September 13-19 next year. The tournament pitting the European team against the USA team is actually one of the most anticipated events on the World Golf calendar.

However, the positive atmosphere was immediately disrupted after official ticket prices were announced. For daily tickets on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Irish residents must pay €499 (US$585) or approximately Rp10 million.

This amount is considered too high and could cause many local fans to reconsider plans to watch the European team face rivals from the United States.

For many Irish citizens, the hosting opportunity now feels financially inaccessible.

Ryder Cup 2027 ticket prices are deemed unfriendly to loyal fans. Many European supporters are reportedly already considering avoiding the tournament entirely due to what they see as unreasonable pricing.

When the European team plays at home, a vibrant atmosphere should be the top priority. Previous editions at European venues always delivered the electric atmosphere that defines the Ryder Cup.

However, many Irish fans are expected to refuse paying such high costs to watch relatively less action compared to other regular golf tournaments.

Disappointment also comes from within the golf world. Justin Rose's caddie Mark “Fooch” Fulcher has publicly criticized the policy.

“Very disappointing to see such extortionate prices for Ryder Cup 2027… I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in a few editions, and it’s amazing to see How great our fan support is… it seems to be a trend in Sports to bleed the true fans dry… sad day,” Fulcher wrote on Instagram.

This comment reflects widespread frustration that modern sports are increasingly distancing themselves from genuine supporters. Despite mounting criticism, significant changes appear unlikely in the near future.

Attention now turns to future events. The Ryder Cup 2031 at Camiral Golf & Wellness in Catalonia, Spain, is expected to learn from the Adare Manor controversy to ensure fairer treatment for fans.
