Persib Bandung salvaged a valuable point after forcing a 2-2 draw against Dewa United in the BRI Super League 2025/2026 continuation match at the Banten International Stadium, Serang, on Monday night. Playing against 10 opponents since the 63rd minute, Maung Bandung rallied from a two-goal deficit.
Dewa United played aggressively from the start and dared to engage in Persib's open game. Marc Klok threatened with a volley but it was saved by Dewa United Goalkeeper Sonny Stevens, resulting only in a corner kick.
The momentum then shifted to the home side in the 24th minute. Alexis Messidoro's cross was met by Alex Martins with a close-range flick. Score 1-0 for Dewa United.

Trailing by one goal, Persib increased the pressure throughout the remainder of the first half. However, Dewa United's tight defense made it difficult for the visitors to penetrate the penalty box. The 1-0 score held until halftime.
Entering the second half, Persib took the initiative to attack in search of an equalizer. However, Dewa United actually managed to add a goal through Alexis Messidoro in the 50th minute, although it was eventually disallowed by the referee after a VAR review.
The home side's pressure didn't stop. Noah Sadaoui delivered a precise pass finished by Ricky Kambuaya with an accurate shot in the 61st minute. Dewa United led 2-0.
The situation changed drastically two minutes later. Dewa United had to play with 10 men after Alex Martins received his second yellow card. Losing one player made the home team's balance start to falter.
Persib capitalized on the numerical advantage. Pressure from the visiting team resulted in a penalty in the 77th minute. Thom Haye, stepping up as the executor, performed his duty perfectly to reduce the score to 2-1.
Haye's goal ignited Persib's spirit to keep attacking. Dewa United was forced into a total defense while trying to protect the lead until the final whistle.
Persib's efforts paid off with a second goal in the 86th minute. Eliano Reijnders' cross was met by a header from Andrew Jung to beat Sonny Stevens. The score changed to 2-2.
In the remaining time, Persib continued to chase a winning goal. However, Dewa United managed to defend with discipline despite playing with 10 men.
With this result, Persib Bandung still leads the Super League Standings. Maung Bandung has collected 65 points from 28 matches. They lead by two points over second-placed Borneo FC.
Meanwhile, Dewa United climbed to seventh place with 41 points from 28 matches.
Although failing to secure a win, the ability to withstand Persib's pressure after playing with 10 men is a positive note for the Tangsel Warriors squad.
