Two English clubs, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, will face off in the Europa League semifinals. The other final ticket will be contested between Portugal's SC Braga and Germany's SC Freiburg.

Forest advanced through hard-fought battles. They eliminated FC Porto with a 2-1 aggregate in the Quarter Finals

This result was sealed by a 1-0 victory in the second leg quarterfinal, following a 1-1 draw at Porto's home ground.

Meanwhile, Villa arrives with far more convincing momentum. The Birmingham-based club crushed Bologna FC 1909 with a commanding 7-1 aggregate.

A 4-0 win in the second leg confirmed their dominance after previously winning 3-1 in Italy

This clash isn't just a semifinal—it's a collision of contrasting approaches: Forest's efficiency versus Villa's aggression.

On the European stage, minor details will determine who advances to the final.

The other semifinal will pit SC Braga against SC Freiburg. Braga secured their semifinal spot by eliminating Real Betis 5-3 on aggregate.

They demonstrated strong character with a 4-2 away win in the second leg after a 1-1 first-leg draw.

Freiburg proved equally impressive. The German representatives demolished Celta Vigo with a resounding 6-1 aggregate.

Back-to-back wins (3-0 and 3-1) showcased knockout-phase consistency that's hard to match.

This lineup creates a fascinating balance in the 2025/2026 Europa League semifinals: two English powerhouses on one side, and a Portugal-Germany duel on the other. Four teams, four playing styles, all chasing one goal—a place in the final.

The first-leg semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, April 30, with return legs set one week later.
