PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir emphasized that the FIFA Series carries far greater weight than regular test matches. 

With FIFA Grade A status, every Match Result will directly impact Indonesia's position in the FIFA world rankings. Indonesia is currently ranked 121st.

“This FIFA Series presents a truly different challenge for the Indonesian National Team. We're facing teams from the Caribbean and Europe with distinct playing styles. This is a major opportunity for players and the public to witness the standard of World Football,” stated Erick.

Host status provides unique advantages. Playing at Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Indonesia can harness the energy of thousands of supporters against opponents ranging from the physical strength typical of Caribbean teams to the tactical discipline of European sides.

Indonesia is scheduled to open the tournament against Saint Kitts and Nevis on March 27, before potentially facing Bulgaria. 

These two opponents present different spectrums of challenges in terms of game tempo, tactical structure, and international experience.

According to Erick, precisely these contrasting characteristics constitute the core value of the FIFA Series. 

Facing opponents across confederations is considered crucial for accelerating the team's quality development.

“This is a major opportunity for players and the public to witness World Football standards,” he continued, stressing that experience against teams with different competition backgrounds will provide an objective benchmark for the Garuda squad's progress," he said.

Beyond on-field results, the FIFA Series also carries an educational mission. Erick wants the public to understand that improving world rankings requires consistent exposure to global opponents rather than instant solutions.

“We want the public to directly observe the quality of opponents from various parts of the world. This is vital for all of us to understand global competition standards,” he concluded.
