Young Indonesian racer Indonesia's Veda Ega Pratama made history by securing third place at the Moto3 Brazil 2026 event held at the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna on Sunday, March 22, 2026, evening WIB.

The Honda Team Asia rider became the first Indonesian racer to achieve a podium finish in a Grand Prix event. He performed consistently in a dramatic race that was temporarily halted due to a red flag.

Veda finished in third position, behind two CFMoto Aspar Team riders: Maximo Quiles as the winner and Marco Morelli in second place.

"Incredible. I struggled before the red flag was shown, but this is my biggest achievement so far," said Veda in a MotoGP interview after the race.

He also expressed appreciation to the Indonesian people who provided support during the race.

"I thank all Indonesians, sponsors, and family watching from Indonesia. This is truly amazing," he said.

Starting the race from fourth position, Veda initially showed impressive performance by moving up to third place early on. However, fierce competition caused him to be bumped by another rider, dropping him to seventh.

The situation became more challenging when he briefly dropped to 10th position. Veda then moved up one spot after the race leader, David Almansa of Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP, crashed.

This incident opened the door for Quiles to lead the race with a significant time advantage over his rivals.

The race became even more dramatic when the red flag was waved on lap 15, forcing a temporary halt. After resuming with an additional five laps, Veda restarted from 10th position.

In the restart session, Quiles remained dominant and secured the win, while Morelli finished second.

Veda capitalized on the momentum brilliantly. He gradually improved his position until finally breaking into the top three and securing the third podium spot.

This result also improves Veda's achievement compared to the season opener at Moto3 Thailand 2026, where he finished fifth.
