Speculation about Erling Haaland's transfer to FC Barcelona was directly denied by the player's agent. Haaland's agent, Rafaela Pimenta, confirmed there have been no discussions whatsoever with the Catalan club regarding a potential move for the Norwegian striker from Manchester City.
The rumors previously emerged after Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font stated his team was working to secure a "preferential option" to sign Haaland should the player ever decide to leave Manchester City.
This statement fueled speculation that the La Liga giants were preparing a long-term move for one of Europe's most prolific attackers.

However, Pimenta firmly refuted these claims. She stressed there has been no communication between Haaland's camp and Barcelona about a transfer plan.
"We have great respect and admiration for Barcelona, but there has been no contact of any kind regarding a potential transfer," Pimenta stated to Marca on Friday.
According to Pimenta, Haaland's situation at Manchester City is currently very stable. The 25-year-old player recently signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 2034.
"Haaland just renewed his contract a few months ago and he is extremely happy at Manchester City. Everything is going very well for him, and there is nothing to discuss about a transfer when everything is going so well at City," she said.
Since joining City, Haaland has indeed been central to the club's ambitious project under manager Pep Guardiola.
His sharpness in the attack has made him one of the most influential players in European Football.
With his newly agreed long-term contract, the likelihood of Haaland moving in the near future seems increasingly small.
Manchester City has also shown no indication of wanting to part with their star striker.
Meanwhile, on Barcelona's side, the Haaland recruitment rumors surfaced amidst the club's internal politics.
Victor Font mentioned Haaland's name as part of his long-term vision should he win the club's presidential election.
The Barcelona presidential election is scheduled for Sunday, where Font will challenge incumbent president Joan Laporta.
However, Font also acknowledged the chances of signing Haaland in the near future are very slim.
Barcelona still needs to stabilize its finances and transfer strategy before it can pursue world-class players.
For now, the transfer rumors linking him to Barcelona appear to be merely political Football talk, not a concrete plan in the transfer market.
