The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in San Francisco introduced the richness of tourism, culture, and Indonesian Cuisine to approximately 40 travel agents from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Indonesian Consul General in San Francisco Yohpy Ichsan Wardana emphasized the importance of collaborating with tourism industry players to introduce Indonesian Destinations to American tourists.

"We hope tonight's meeting marks the beginning of broader and sustainable partnerships with travel industry professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area, enabling more American Tourists to discover and explore the richness of Indonesian Destinations," stated Yohpy.

He added that the promotional evening was designed as a warm gathering space between Indonesia and travel industry players on America's West Coast.

KJRI aims to present Indonesia not just as a Tourist Destination, but as a living, warm Cultural Experience.

The event was designed as a brief journey through the archipelago. Through artistic performances, audiovisual presentations, and culinary offerings, guests experienced the diversity of Indonesian Culture.

The performance opened with Kebyar Duduk Dance from Bali, showcasing dynamic movements and strong expressions characteristic of Dewata Island's art.

Next, the stage featured Lenggang Nyai, a modern Betawi dance blending traditional elegance with Jakarta's urban vibes.

Guests also viewed visuals about the upcoming Borobudur Lantern Festival scheduled for May 31, 2026.

Promotional videos further introduced Indonesia's five Super Priority Tourism Destinations: Lake Toba, Borobudur Temple, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, and Likupang.

These presentations acquainted travel agents with Indonesia's broad spectrum of destinations, moving beyond Bali's established global recognition.

The evening concluded with a flavor journey through Archipelago Cuisine. The culinary highlight was authentic rendang from West Sumatra, renowned as one of the world's most delicious dishes.

Complementary dishes like ayam lado ijo (green chili chicken), balado salted fish potatoes, and bamboo shoot green bean curry completed the culinary experience, creating the impression that visiting Indonesia isn't just tourism—but a cultural and gastronomic adventure.
