Indonesia's Badminton Team maintains hopes of clinching the title at the Swiss Open 2026, following confirmation that four Indonesian representatives have advanced to the semifinals of this BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament.

Semifinal matches are scheduled at St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Indonesia is represented across men's singles, Women's Singles, and mixed doubles categories.

This achievement significantly boosts Indonesia's chances of securing the championship at the Basel tournament.

Anthony Ginting's Impressive Run

The spotlight shines on men's singles player Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, who continues his remarkable journey in the competition.

Starting from the qualification rounds, Ginting displayed Champion mentality against India's Tharun Mannepalli in the Quarter Finals.

In an over-one-hour battle, Ginting persevered to claim victory in three games 21-19, 19-21, 21-13.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist faced pressure in the second game but dominated the decider, leading 11-6 at the interval before sealing the win.

This result ends Ginting's prolonged wait to reach an individual tournament semifinal since his last appearance at the Hong Kong Open 2024.

Alwi Farhan's Steady Performance

Alongside Ginting, the Indonesian Men's Singles category features Alwi Farhan, who earlier secured his semifinal berth.

The young shuttler dominated Hong Kong's Jason Gunawan with a straight-games victory of 21-14, 21-15.

This win reinforces Alwi's consistent form throughout the tournament, having not dropped a single game since the preliminary rounds.

Putri Kusuma Wardani Nears Championship

In women's singles, top seed Putri Kusuma Wardani keeps Indonesia's title hopes alive.

Putri advanced to the semifinals after defeating Thailand's Pitchamon Opatniputh in a tight straight-games match 21-18, 21-19.

This victory brings Putri closer to her first international title since winning the Korea Masters 2024.

Amri/Nita's Dramatic Victory

Indonesia secured a mixed doubles semifinal spot through pair Amri Syahnawi and Nita Violina Marwah.

The eighth seeds endured a fierce battle against compatriots Adnan Maulana and Indah Cahya Sari Jamil.

After reaching the rubber game, Amri/Nita ultimately triumphed 21-18, 20-22, 21-19.

However, not all Indonesian representatives progressed further.

The mixed doubles pair Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu exited in the quarterfinals.

They fell to China's Cheng Xing and Zhang Chi 19-21, 17-21.
