Indonesian National Team Coach John Herdman has released the names of 41 players for the FIFA Series 2026 to be held in Jakarta in late March 2026. However, behind this lengthy list, five players are confirmed to miss the Garuda squad for various reasons, ranging from disciplinary sanctions to injuries.

The main spotlight falls on the absence of Persib Bandung player Thom Haye and Persija Jakarta player Shayne Pattynama. Both are excluded from Herdman's plans due to four-match suspensions.

The sanctions stem from the incident during the Indonesia vs Iraq match in Round 4 of 2026 World Cup Qualifications in October 2025.

In FIFA's ruling, Thom and Shayne were deemed to have committed unsporting conduct toward the match.

Besides disciplinary factors, injuries have sidelined two other players. Asnawi Mangkualam reportedly suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, ruling him out until the season's end.

Meanwhile, Pratama Arhan is still recovering from knee surgery earlier this year, making him unavailable for national team duty in the near term.

Marselino Ferdinan, currently on loan from Oxford United to Slovak club AS Trencin, also misses the list. Marselino's limited playing time at club level excluded him from the provisional Garuda squad.

Players Absent from FIFA Series

Thom Haye - FIFA Sanction (4 matches)

Shayne Pattynama - FIFA Sanction (4 matches)

Asnawi Mangkualam - ACL injury (expected out until season end)

Pratama Arhan - Post-knee surgery recovery

Marselino Ferdinan - Limited club playing minutes
