Chelsea and Manchester City secured their spots in the Quarter-Finals of the 2025/2026 FA Cup after dramatic victories in Sunday's early morning WIB fifth-round matches. Both teams had to work hard to eliminate their respective opponents to keep their chances alive for claiming England's oldest Football trophy.

Chelsea booked their place in the last eight after defeating Wrexham 4-2 at SToK Cae Ras Stadium. The Blues even needed extra time to secure victory against the Championship League side.

According to the FA website, the match went into two 15-minute extra periods after ending 2-2 in regular time.

Wrexham took an early lead in the 18th minute when Sam Smith beat Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez in a one-on-one situation.

The hosts nearly doubled their advantage in the 31st minute when Ryan Longman fired from the right side of the box, but Sanchez made a sharp save to force a corner.

Chelsea, who struggled to break down Wrexham's defense, finally equalized in the 40th minute. Wrexham keeper Arthur Okonkwo failed to cleanly handle Garnacho's shot, resulting in an own goal. The 1-1 scoreline held until halftime.

The second half saw both teams exchange attacks without additional goals until late in the match.

Wrexham regained the lead in the 78th minute from a corner. Josh Windass's long-range strike took a deflection off Callum Doyle, wrong-footing Sanchez to make it 2-1.

Chelsea responded quickly. Four minutes later in the 82nd minute, 19-year-old right-back Joshua Acheampong leveled the score with a strike from the right side of the penalty area.

The 2-2 deadlock forced extra time.

In extra time, Chelsea took the lead in the 96th minute through Alejandro Garnacho's effort, Putting the visitors ahead 3-2.

Wrexham thought they'd equalized in the 114th minute when Lewis Brunt headed home from a corner, but VAR disallowed the goal for offside.

Chelsea sealed the 4-2 victory in the 120+5th minute through João Pedro's fourth goal for the visitors, sending The Blues through to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Manchester City also secured their quarter-final spot after defeating Newcastle United 3-1 at St James' Park.

According to the FA website, Omar Marmoush starred for The Citizens with a brace (47', 65'). Savio Moreira added another (39'), while Harvey Barnes scored for Newcastle (18').

Newcastle started aggressively and took the lead in the 18th minute when Barnes finished Sandro Tonali's through ball past the City keeper.

Manchester City equalized in the 39th minute through Savio, whose goal came when Jeremy Doku's cross inadvertently deflected off his foot in the box.

The 1-1 score held until halftime.

City came out pressing in the second half and took the lead in the 47th minute. Marmoush tapped in Matheus Nunes' pull-back from close range.

The Egyptian striker scored again in the 65th minute with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, extending City's lead to 3-1.

Newcastle tried to reduce the deficit in the remaining time but couldn't find another goal before the final whistle.

This victory sees Manchester City join Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea in the 2025/2026 FA Cup quarter-finals.
