David Liberty Nuban Enters IBL's 1,000 Points Club, Hornbills Send Message to Rivals

That wasn't just any three-pointer—it was his 1,000th career point in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL).

Bogor Hornbills player David Liberty Nuban achieved this milestone by entering the IBL's 1,000 Points Club during his team's 109-76 victory over Dewa United Bogor.

The IBL website stated Thursday that the player born July 24, 1998 secured this accomplishment in the first quarter through a three-pointer met with roaring cheers from home supporters.

That momentum seemed to unlock Nuban's confidence. He didn't stop there.

An Efficient Night and His Most Productive This Season

Throughout the game, Nuban played aggressively yet controlled. He recorded 18 points, his season-high.

Not only that, his six three-pointers from 13 attempts marked his career-high in the league. 

Perimeter effectiveness became the Hornbills' primary weapon in dismantling Dewa United's defense.

Through week seven, he averages 6.4 points per game, surpassing his averages from the previous two seasons with RANS Simba Bogor and Prawira Bandung.

However, his career-high scoring average came with Satya Wacana Salatiga in the 2021 season, when he averaged 9.7 points per game.

This suggests his performance trajectory with the Hornbills still has room to climb.

Four Jerseys, One Milestone

The Hornbills are Nuban's fourth team in his IBL professional journey.

He began his career with Satya Wacana for four seasons. He then spent the next three seasons with RANS (2022–2024). 

In 2025, he briefly played for Prawira before joining the Hornbills in 2026.

This 1,000-point milestone isn't just a symbol of consistency, but also proof of endurance in an increasingly competitive league. 

At 27 years old, Nuban remains in his productive phase—experienced enough yet still at his physical peak.

The 109-76 win over Dewa United wasn't just a regular victory. Dominance emerged early in the first quarter through fast attacks and effective long-range shooting accuracy.
