This activity isn't just an old vehicle convoy. Behind the roar of classic Volkswagen engines lies a major mission to promote Kediri's City Tourism potential, spanning history, culture, culinary delights, and the growing Creative Economy.

Kediri Mayor Vinanda Prameswati emphasized that the city boasts numerous attractions deserving wider exposure to tourists.

“I believe this event can positively impact local economic activity. Kediri City has immense potential for every visitor to enjoy,” she stated during the VW Safari City Tour launch on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

She also reminded all participants to prioritize safety and order throughout the journey. She stressed that Kediri's hospitality and beauty should leave a lasting impression on every visitor.

“Let's showcase the beauty and warmth of our beloved city. So that visitors always want to return,” she added.

The tour route includes a stop at Campurejo Village Park in Mojoroto District, which also houses Kediri's Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (IPLT). Interestingly, this area functions not only as a processing facility but also as a developed community recreational space.
