For some racers, failure to finish on the racetrack can leave bad memories. However, for Spanish Moto2 rider Daniel Holgado Miralles, Lombok offered something more than just racing. He found an escape at the heights of Mount Rinjani.
After competing at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and failing to finish the final race, Holgado didn't immediately pack his bags.
Instead of going home, he chose to challenge himself in another way. He climbed one of Indonesia's most beautiful mountains, Mount Rinjani.

Through his personal Instagram account @danilholgado96, the 20-year-old rider shared his unexpected adventure.
With the Power Electronics Aspar Team, Holgado trekked for three days, navigating challenging trails, and successfully reached the summit to witness the mesmerizing Segara Anak Lake.
It wasn't just the scenery he enjoyed. On the Torean trail, North Lombok, Holgado relaxed in natural hot springs, accompanied by porters and local guides hired by his team.
His relaxed smile was a far cry from the tense face of a racer on the track.
“An epic mountain escape. 3 days of endless laughter, and lifelong memories,” he wrote.
This adventure served as a kind of sweet ending to a tough week. Holgado is no ordinary name.
He is the 2021 Moto3 World Champion, who spent five years with Red Bull KTM before moving to Power Electronics Aspar Team to debut in the Moto2 championship in 2025.
But his debut in the new class wasn't entirely smooth. Early October 2025, Holgado failed to complete the race in Mandalika.
Rather than wallowing in disappointment, he chose to celebrate the moment, explore Lombok's nature, and take home memories just as valuable as any trophy.
On the track, he is a racer. At the peak of Rinjani, he is an adventurer. And perhaps, it is there that he found a reason to come back stronger.
