Jakarta reaffirms its position as a global city stage. This time, Jakarta becomes one of the filming locations for a foreign movie titled "Extraction: Tygo", an international big-screen project starring K-pop group BLACKPINK member Lalisa "Lisa" Manobal or Lisa Blackpink

The presence of this major production not only captivates film and K-pop fans but also strengthens Jakarta's image as an urban destination rich in visual character.

The West Jakarta Old Town area, with its iconic colonial buildings and historical atmosphere, was chosen as the shooting backdrop.

As quoted in Netflix Tudum's broadcast on Friday, January 23, the film "TYGO" will mark Lisa's first big-screen role, following her acting debut in HBO's series "The White Lotus Season 3".

"Being in an action movie has always been my dream, and for my first film role to be in such an exciting action movie is a dream come true," Lisa said in December 2025.

Besides Lisa, "TYGO" also stars actor Don Lee (star of film franchises "The Roundup", "Marvel's Eternals", "Train to Busan"), and Lee Jin-uk (star of "Squid Game", "Sweet Home").

Police conducted traffic engineering on several road sections, including around the Old Town and Tangerang City area.

"That's right, on January 28, 2026, there is a filming activity from Korea, specifically at the Jasindo Building in the Old Town area (left side of Cafe Batavia) in West Jakarta. Traffic diversion is being carried out on Kunir Street," said Kanit Lantas Polsek Tamansari, AKP Teguh.

Head of Public Relations Section for Metro Tangerang City Police, AKP Prapto Laksono, also confirmed this international-scale filming activity.

"Yes, there is a Korean artist filming. It will only be a few days," said Prapto.

Police implemented traffic engineering from January 28-31, 2026. Vehicle flow arrangements were carried out in stages, covering routes from Neglasari, Cadas, Bayur, to the Pintu Air 10 area.

Jakarta's inclusion in the list of international film shooting locations opens new opportunities for urban Tourism

Old Town, with its Cultural Heritage buildings and streets, offers a cinematic landscape rarely found in modern Southeast Asian cities.

Global camera footprints recording Old Town corners could invite tourists to walk the same streets. To seek experiences, stories, and landscapes now familiar to the world's eyes.

For tourists, this moment serves as a reminder: Jakarta isn't merely a Business hub, but a city with strong visual appeal and historical narratives.(ANTARA)
