Garmin has officially expanded its product range into the young Golfer segment by launching the Garmin Approach J1. This GPS smartwatch is specifically designed for Junior Golfers, offering a lightweight, intuitive wearable focused on learning golf from an early age.

According to Gizmochina, the Garmin Approach J1 features a slim design and lightweight build for comfort on younger players' smaller wrists. This design also ensures the watch won't interfere with swings during play.

For comfort, Garmin equips the Approach J1 with a ComfortFit fabric strap. This material maintains stable positioning during activity while providing flexibility for active junior golfers. Garmin states this watch helps young players understand game strategy, read distances, and make better decisions.

Feature-wise, the Approach J1 includes technologies supporting both gameplay and learning. A key feature is Tee-Off Guidance, which recommends tee positions based on player skill using preloaded data from over 43,000 Golf Courses.

Additionally, the Personal Par feature dynamically adjusts par according to the user's skill level, creating realistic targets to gradually build junior golfers' confidence.

Garmin also includes a Pace-of-Play Timer that visually indicates ideal play speed, helping young players understand game rhythm per hole.

For technical support, the Approach J1 offers Club Suggestion and Distance Analysis features. It recommends clubs based on distance while displaying yardages to front, middle, and back greens.

Beyond performance, Garmin adds Score Tracking and Celebration Animations. Junior golfers can record scores directly on the watch and receive interactive animations celebrating on-course achievements.

Display-wise, the Approach J1 uses a 1.2 to 1.4-inch AMOLED screen claimed to be bright and readable under various lighting. Battery life lasts up to 15 hours in GPS mode.

Beyond golf, this watch supports daily functions like step tracking, alarms, timers, and stopwatches. The Approach J1 is now available globally through Garmin's official channels.

Though official pricing in Indonesia remains unannounced, international markets list it at approximately EUR309.99 or USD299.99, equivalent to around Rp5.1 million.
